"Gram Kaushal" is a Joint Venture of Rangwasa Jaivik Gram Foundation & Tisser Artisans Trust for Empowerment of Women from rural and underprivileged sections of the society
Vision and Mission
- The inter-related issues of global warming, drought, soil depletion etc. have greatly affected the farmer community in a negative way. We believe that organic/ natural farming can counter these problems and more. We are dedicated to organic farming and wish to lead people into it by setting an example. We see the “Farmer and Farming” in a larger picture where food, lifestyle, symbiosis and peaceful co-existence are an integral part of our worldview.
- India is an agricultural country with active participation of women in farming activities. Traditionally, Indian farmers have been practicing multiple cropping which was characterized by a major role of women in various farm related activities. Unfortunately, with the advent of monoculture of primarily cash crops, the role of women in agriculture went on diminishing. The focus of this venture is to provide Secondary and Tertiary agriculture based skilling and entrepreneurship training for women /girls who aim at stimulating employment/ income generating activities among rural and tribal women and girls of various socio-economic levels and different age groups.
